Welcome to PAPS 2027 in Okinawa
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As President of PAPS, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 60th Annual Meeting of the Pacific Association of Pediatric Surgeons, April 18–22, 2027, in beautiful Okinawa, Japan.
Our meeting will bring together pediatric surgeons, trainees, and colleagues from across the Pacific region and around the world to share advances in pediatric surgery, address challenging clinical problems, and strengthen the friendships that define PAPS. The scientific program will feature the latest clinical and basic science work with oral presentations, videos, posters, and engaging special talks. Abstracts accepted for full oral presentations will be eligible for publication in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery.
As always, we are excited to celebrate the work of our trainees and young faculty. The PAPS Prize recognizes the outstanding trainee research and oral presentations and reflects PAPS’ commitment to developing the next generation of pediatric surgeons.
This year, I am pleased to announce the Innovation Award designed for new and young faculty investigators. This new annual award will honor creativity, bold thinking, and innovative ideas in pediatric surgery which will improve children’s lives worldwide. I am excited to see this award become an enduring legacy of PAPS and inspire colleagues to think to infinity and beyond! Follow the links on our website for more information.
And of course, we are going to have a ton of fun at PAPS for you and your entire family. Okinawa provides a remarkable setting and our complimentary conference tour will visit historic Shuri Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, followed by lunch and a visit to Okinawa World, including the spectacular Gyokusendo Cave, one of Japan’s largest limestone caves.
PAPS is about family, friendship, and sharing ideas beyond borders. I look forward to welcoming old friends, meeting new colleagues, and celebrating our trainees and innovators during an unforgettable week together.
