The PAPS Annual Meeting is designed to provide comprehensive continuing education in the field of pediatric surgery. It is PAPS’ intent to bring together the world’s leading authorities to present and discuss the most recent clinical and research efforts. Our organization is focused on clinical pediatric surgery and the international, cross cultural sharing or clinically innovative surgical techniques. Surgeons at our meeting concentrate on learning the newest surgical techniques which may have initially been developed and popularized in one country and can now be applied on an international scale.
Please remember to sign into your abstract submission site and confirm you are presenting! Meeting registration is REQUIRED to present. Abstracts which have not confirmed will be deleted from the program!
Abstracts accepted for Oral Presentation will be presented on our new VIRTUAL platform using Zoom. The highest scoring abstracts were awarded a 3 minute presentation and 2 minute discussion with the exception of the Basic Science PAPS Prize Competition which is 4 minute presentation and 2 minutes discussion. Oral Presentations should be made using Windows PowerPoint. You will be asked to do your presentation live via ZOOM during your appointed time. Attendees can text in questions to the moderators who will select the questions. All abstracts accepted for ORAL presentation are eligible for manuscript submission. If you have been awarded a presentation for one of the PAPS Prize sessions (either clinical or basic science) then you are also EXPECTED to submit a manuscript for publication consideration. As a reminder, the PAPS Prize competition is for trainees only. If you mistakenly checked the box to be considered for the PAPS prize but you are not a trainee, rest assured you can still present your work but you are not eligible for the PAPS Prize.
Quick Shot Oral Presentations
Quick Shot Presentations will be converted to Audio PDFs with 3 minutes audio plus a visible PDF. These will be "on demand" presentations that are easy for the attendees to see and hear. The presenter will record the audio and upload their PDF on Event Pilot (Not Cadmium CD). Instructions will be sent to all presenters.
We are currently discussing whether the videos will be presented live or on-demand. Video Presentations will be allowed a 4 minute video plus 1 minute for discussion. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR VIDEO TO EXCEED 4 MINUTES. If we select the live presentations, you will have the option to narrate live. If you elect to have a pre-rorded audio as an alternate, please remember the video MUST be narrated in English. But please do NOT use background music in your video. Video format should be .MOV, or .MP4.
